Ruth E. Pyatt, 81, of Waverly, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at Adena Pike Hospital in Waverly. She was born April 21, 1931 in Roanoke, Virginia, daughter of the late William Lewis Clemmer Sr. and Ruth Parker Clemmer Oliver. Ruth was the widow of the late Edward William Pyatt, who passed away November 20, 1989.
She was a former member of Grace Baptist Church in McArthur, a former member of the Vinton County Senior Citizens Center, a former member of Vinton County RSVP, a former volunteer for Hospice of Appalachia and a former volunteer for Care Outreach in McArthur.
Ruth is survived by her son, William Ross (Donna Nichols) Pyatt of Newark; daughters, Edwina Winona (Tom) Fink of Springfield, Amy Katherine (Ron Alltop) Pyatt of Waverly and Virginia Irene Pyatt (David) Nickell of McArthur; grandchildren, Shawn (Shayna) and Kyle Caldwell, Derrick Fink, Donyel (Terry) Miller, Jamye (Chad) Carroll, Heather Edwards and Beth Redman; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Riley, Chloe, Corey, Austin, Alisha, Kaci, Taylor, Preston and Bowman; sisters, Irene “Beenie” Teel of Charleston, West Virginia and Helen Maxwell of Kansas and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Clemmer and William Clemmer Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Roger Hawk officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:30AM until time of service.
