Paul J. Koons

Paul J. Koons, 86, of Glouster, passed away Monday, November 5, 2012 at his sons home in Commercial Point, Ohio. He was born April 17, 1926 in Athens County, son of the late James Edward and Anna Erdy Koons. Paul was married to the late Norma J. Kasler Koons, who passed away November 26, 2004.

He retired from Ohio University, was a WWII Navy Veteran and was a lifetime member of the West Side Church of Christ in Trimble.

Paul is survived by his sons, Larry (Misty) Koons, Jerry (Libby) Koons, Duane (Pam) Koons and Steve (Betsy) Koons; daughter, Paula (Curt) Bailey; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; a brother, Bob Koons and sister Shirley Sayre.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Koons and Phyllis Romanowski and brother, James “Jiggs” Koons.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, with Rev. Roderick Ross officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery, Athens County, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Athens VFW Post #3477, the Albany VFW Post #9893 and the Athens American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6-8 P.M.
