Gary Andrew Barney

Gary Andrew Barney, 67, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 18, 1944 in McArthur, son of the late Andrew M. and Mildred F. Nickel Barney. Gary was married to Naomi Averill Irvin Barney, who survives.

He was a retired Courier Driver for Federal Express and was a former mechanic for Goodyear. Gary was a member of the McArthur Eagles, a social member of the McArthur VFW and attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in McArthur. He loved his family, NASCAR, woodworking, music and was an avid jokester.

Gary is survived by his sons, David E. (Gina Poare) Barney of Grove City and Jeremy D. (Stephanie) Barney of McArthur; a daughter, Bobbie Jo (Doug) Neece of Thornville; grandchildren, David Andrew, Sammy Jo, Cody, Ashtyn, Joey, Eta, Oscar and Chris; brothers, Roger (Betty) Barney of Creola and Marvin (Jesse) Barney of West Liberty; sisters, Linda Hunt of McArthur, Darlene (Bob) Morris of Grove City and Debbie (Paul) Stewart of Chillicothe; sister-in-law, Sue (Bill) May of Millersport; brother-in-law, Clarence Irvin of Columbus; special friends, Pam and Tom McManis of McArthur and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Brittany Irvin.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff and Minister Pamela McManis officiating. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5-8 P.M.
