Donna J. Monks, 82, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Logan. She was born January 17, 1930 in Kimberly, Ohio, daughter of the late James Sylvester and Ruby Josephine Willison Kinsey. Donna was married to Billy Monks, who survives.
She was a member of the Church of The Epiphany and was a former member of Lancaster Active Artists and the quilting club. Donna studied art with Marvin Triguba and enjoyed collecting dolls, needle work, knitting, upholstering and seamstress work.
She is survived by her son, Bruce (Nancy) Monks of Lancaster; grandchildren, Lance Monks of Barre, Vermont and Kristen (Travis) Luby of Lancaster; great grandchildren, Amanda, Anni, Dylan, Austin and Miranda; great grandchild, Gavin and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald and Ralph Kinsey and sisters, Helen Dunnington and Lucille Forbes.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Father Bill McCleery and Father Bill Bales officiating. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M.
