Joe Franklin Howdyshell

Joe Franklin Howdyshell, 82, of Logan, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1930 in Perry County, son of the late Harley Howdyshell and Irene Murphy Howdyshell Pavey. Joe was married to Patricia McCandlish Howdyshell, who survives.

He retired from W.E. Shrider Oil Company, was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he received a Purple Heart and was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge.

Joe is survived by his son, Harley (Mary) Howdyshell of Logan; daughters, Rebecca (Steve) Arthur and Sarah (Duane) Stretton both of New Straitsville; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a sister, Mary McGlothlin of Bremen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Howdyshell and a great grandson, Luke Alexander Davies.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, November 23, 2012 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Steve Daugherty officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-7:30 P.M.
