Gary Edward Baisden

Gary Edward Baisden, 61, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 19, 1951 in Mason County, West Virginia, son of the late Walter Glen and Jessie Juanita Wilburn Baisden. Gary was married to Angela Harrison Baisden, who survives.

He was a former corrections officer at Moundsville State Penitentiary in West Virginia and was a Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Heather (Charles Wallace) Baisden of Wellston, Jennifer Baisden of McArthur and Kristina Baisden of Wellston; grandchildren, Heavenly Gardner, Ryann Gardner and Saine Arms; a brother, John Wilburn of Elkview, West Virginia; sisters, Sally Kay Rawlings of Charleston, West Virginia, Brenda Carol Fields of Charleston, West Virginia, Ora Marie Hoover of Charleston, West Virginia and Glenna Jean Chamber of Georgia and a special caregiver, Donnia Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Dale Baisden and Bruce Baisden.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, November 30, 2012 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
