Fred D. Coomer, 83, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 14, 1929 in LaSee, Kentucky, son of the late John D. and Annie Lloyd Coomer. Fred was married to Alice VanDyke Coomer, who survives.
He retired from General Clay Products, an Air Force Veteran, was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a former Monday Creek Township Trustee.
Fred is survived by his sons, Fred D. “Skip” (Kimberly) Coomer of Logan and John Robert (Chanda) Coomer of Sanford, North Carolina; daughters, Martha Jo Turki of Texas, Denice (Charles) Mock of New Plymouth and Barbara Ann Coomer of Logan; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, John D. Coomer Jr. of Bonifay, Florida, Ed Coomer of Cincinnati, Billy Joe Coomer of New Straitsville and David Coomer of Sanford, North Carolina and sisters, Connie Petty of Louisville, Kentucky, Mary Lou Inman of Cincinnati, Carol King of Clearwater, Florida and Bobbie Jean Dickson of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Harold Coomer; sister, Neva Nell Dupler and granddaughter, Delayna Rae Mock.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2012 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
