William L. Tippie

William L. Tippie, 95, of Glouster, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in The Plains. He was born September 6, 1917 in Glouster, son of the late Elmer and Elizabeth Miller Tippie. Bill was married to the late Lois McClelland Tippie.

He was a retired truck driver for Pico Wholesale, a WWII Army Veteran, a member of the Glouster Eagles, the Glouster Moose, the Jacksonville VFW and the Teamsters.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Eldon) Bickley of Glouster; grandchildren, Rick (Billie) Bickley of Blue Rock and Tina Bickley of Nelsonville; great grandchildren, Mindy, Melissa and Russell and six great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise, Edith and Lourella.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, December 30, 2012, in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, with Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Interment will be in Dew Cemetery, Perry County, with military graveside services being conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from noon until the time of the service.
