Harold "Matt" Matthew Prater

Harold Matthew “Matt” Prater, 36, of Chillicothe, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1976 in Chillicothe, son of Minnie Coleman Prater of Hamden and the late Harold D. Prater.

Matt worked for Legg and Davis Construction.

He is survived by his daughter, Payton Nicole Prater of Dundas; brothers, Larry (Donna) Prater of McArthur, Daniel (Carol Anne) Prater of McArthur and Keith (Ella) Prater of Dundas; girlfriend, Sonia Belcher of Chillicothe; stepchildren, Sean Belcher and Ashlie Coskery, both of Chillicothe; stepgrandchild, Skylar Belcher and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, Matt was preceded in death by son, Matthew Ryan Prater.

Funeral services will be held 12 P.M., Friday, January 4, 2013 at Maggie's Home Church in Dundas, with Elder Greg Sowards and Elder Johnny Newsome officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Wednesday, from 4-8 P.M. and on Thursday, at Maggie's Home Church from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Friday.
