Sarah A. Mccarty

Sarah A. McCarty, 84, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 15, 1928 in Vinton County, daughter of the late Aristus and Blanche Galliher Wine. Sarah was the widow of the late Elmer McCarty.

She retired from Ohio University in Athens.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hunt of Radcliff; grandchildren, Tina Gardner, Shawndra “Angie” Greenlee, Craig “Ky” Hunt and Teresa Stanley; seven great grandchildren; sister, Belinda Danner of Lancaster; former son-in-law, Janis Hunt and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sarah was preceded in death by her first husband, Amos Dozer Jr.; son, Rickey Dozer; a great grandchild and sister, Delia Peck, Julia Hinson, Sally Baker, Audrey Young and Norma Hinson.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Harrison Starr officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6-8 P.M.
