Fern Irene Seitz

Fern Irene (Dozer) Seitz, 90, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Doctors Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 11, 1922 in Ray, Ohio, daughter of the late Samuel Edward and Minerva Doles Dozer. Fern was the widow of the late Ivan William Seitz, they were married February 7, 1942.

While living in Vinton County, she attended Allensville Church of Christ in Christian Union Church and Walnut Grove Church. Recently, she attended The Bible Community Church and Westgate Baptist Church, both of Columbus, Ohio.

Fern is survived by her sons, Delno (Grace) Seitz of Stevensville, Montana and Gary (Debbie) Seitz of Cape Coral, Florida; daughter, Janice (James) McWhorter of Columbus; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Ralph Dozer and sisters, Bernice Rinehart, Norma Appleman, Mary Goodrich and Eunice Mount.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Sunday, January 20, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Jim Harper officiating. Interment will be in Bell Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
