Shirley A. Kirkpatrick

Shirley A. Kirkpatrick, 73, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at her residence. She was born January 28, 1940 in Millfield, daughter of the late John and Mary Dickens Hook. Shirley was married for 53 years to William E. Kirkpatrick, who survives.

She formerly worked at the Athens Mental Hospital.

Shirley is survived by her son, Mitchell (Crystal) Kirkpatrick of Lancaster; daughters, Pam Daubenmire of Logan and Marni (George) Tucker of Rockbridge; seventeen grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Bobbie Williams) Hook of Millfield; sister, Judy (James) McCall of Glouster and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Orsbon; sister, MaryLou Fierce and a brother, Tod Hook.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Rev. Kelly Copeland officiating. Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery, Athens County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
