Larry Dean Votaw

Larry Dean Votaw, 69, of Creola, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born July 17, 1943 in Leonardsburg, Ohio, son of the late William Ray Votaw and Ada Belle Farley Votaw Groves. Larry was married to Patricia Frizzell Votaw, who survives.

He retired from K-Mart, was an Air Force Veteran and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in McArthur.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry (Jeannette) Votaw of Columbus; daughters, Laurie (Eugene) Bay of Wilkesville and Robin Willard of Creola; daughter-in-law, Julie Votaw of Columbus; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Jerald (Debbie) Votaw of Marengo, Richard Votaw of Mt. Gilead and Jackie (Beverly) Votaw of Chillicothe; sisters, Diane Votaw of Florence, Kentucky, Rosemary Caudill of Marion, Peggy Fogle of Marengo and Sheila Waldron of Zanesville; mother-in-law, Evelyn Frizzell and his constant companion, his dog, Mugs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Dean Votaw and three brothers, Gene, Edward and Donald Votaw.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, February 22, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Kim Graves officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Vinton County, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
