Mauda Lea Prater

Mauda Lea Prater, 92, of McArthur, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 18, 1920 in Garrett, Kentucky, daughter of the late Royden Keith and Grace Conley. Mauda was the widow of the late Ernest D. Prater.

She was a member of Maggies Home Church.

Mauda is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Ellen) Prater of Bolivar, Ohio, Franklin (Sandy) Prater of McArthur and Keith (Janet) Prater of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; daughters, Berniece Kaaz of McArthur, Sheila (Denny) Burley of Springboro, Ohio, Margie (David) Booth of Lancaster, Delana (Mike) Newsome of McArthur and Vicki (Roger) McCathren of McArthur; daughter-in-law, Brenda Prater Brooks of McArthur; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Prater; two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2013 at Maggie’s Home Church in Dundas. Interment will be in the Conley Family Cemetery, Creola. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
