Russell "Allan" Giffin

Russell “Allan” Giffin, 34, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1978 in Athens, Ohio, son of Dave and Cathy Bush Giffin of Nelsonville. Allan was married to Courtney Cagg Giffin, who survives.

He was currently employed at Buckingham Coal Company and was formerly employed at Thompson Concrete. Allan was an auxiliary member of the Nelsonville VFW Post #3467 and was a member of the Nelsonville Elks Lodge #543.

He is survived by his daughters, Ryleigh Nicole Giffin and Ashlyn Marie Giffin both of the home; brothers, Chris (Johanna) Giffin of Chicago and Eric (Kelly) Giffin of Nelsonville; grandparents, Violet Bush and Donna Giffin and his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Cindy Cagg.

Allan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russ Giffin and Milt Bush.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Rev. Garry Dickerson officiating. Interment will be in Connett Cemetery, Athens County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. where an Elks service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M.
