Patricia C. Gathers

Patricia C. Gathers, 82, of Lancaster, formerly of Logan, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born September 3, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Maurice and Laura Schultz Goldsmith. She was the widow of the late Harry R. Gathers.

She was a retired elementary school librarian. Patricia received her Bachelor’s Degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and her Master’s Degree from Eastern Illinois University.

Patricia is survived by her son, Timothy (Cindy Petrie) Gathers of Lancaster and daughters, Laura (Ross) Harms of McArthur and Grace Greenwell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Jennifer, Christina, Josie, and Sam; a brother, William (Barb) Goldsmith of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews, including Robert (Jeanne) Foster.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her biological parents, Robert and Anne Schultz Castle and three sisters, Ann Castle, Gretchen Lankford, and Eleanor Pearlman.

Private services will be held at The Inn at Cedar Falls.
