Robert V. Huntley

Robert V. Huntley, 83, of McArthur, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born March 4, 1930 in Vinton County, son of the late Harmon and Nellie Shurtz Huntley. Robert was married to Ernestine Peters Huntley, who survives.

He retired from Western Southern Life Insurance Company and from Wyman Park at the age of 79. Robert was a Korean Conflict Marine Veteran, a member of Delta Lodge #207 F&AM, a member of the McArthur Eagles and a member of the McArthur Presbyterian Church.

Robert is survived by his son, Mark Huntley of McArthur; daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Brooks of McArthur; grandchildren, Nathan (Jenny) Huntley, April (Shawn) Huntley, Brandy (Josh) Casto and Jordan Brooks and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Robert Huntley; granddaughter, Danielle Brooks; grandson, Matthew Huntley; brothers, Ortha, Elza, Kenneth and Donald Huntley and a sister, Gertrude McDaniel.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Christine Burns officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M. where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 P.M.
