Phyllis Swaim Vollmer

Phyllis Swaim Vollmer, 99, of Cincinnati, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at Shell Point Hospice in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born May 21, 1913 in Rockbridge, daughter of the late Robert and Maude Weed Swaim. She was the widow of the late Charles H. Vollmer.

She was a member of Hyde Park Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Haydenville United Methodist Church.

Phyllis is survived by her son, Richard Vollmer of Spokane, Washington; daughters, Ronna (Bob) Gardner of Cincinnati, Karen (James) McCarthey of Ft. Myers, Florida and Rhea (John) Mathias of Reynoldsburg; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan with Bobby Gardner officiating. Interment is in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
