Christopher "Chris" R. Johnson

Christopher “Chris” R. Johnson, 41, of Athens, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born March 15, 1972 in Montgomery, Alabama, son of Helen Chilcote Johnson of Buchtel and the late Paul E. Johnson Sr.

He was a Tattoo Artist and the former owner of Art Apocolypse, in Athens. Chris graduated from Nelsonville-York High School in 1990, attended Hocking College and loved his dogs and guns.

He is survived by his brother, Paul E. (Barb) Johnson Jr. of Buchtel; sisters, Tina (Jim) Bahl of Nelsonville and Paula J. (Ed) Baumgardner of Minford, Ohio; several aunts and uncles; nine nieces; one nephew; two great nieces and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville, with Rev. Ernie Perkins officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday, from 2-8 P.m.
