Virgil Alva Richards Jr., 84, of Logan, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born September 15, 1928 in Hocking County, son of the late Virgil A. and Nellie Woolever Richards Sr.
Virgil worked at Godman Shoe Factory and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was an avid musician and fan who loved especially guitar music and bluegrass. Virgil was a member of the Logan First Baptist Church and was a friend to all.
He is survived by his sons, Darrin (Teya) Richards and Timothy Richards, both of Logan; daughter, Amy (Tim) Nessley of Logan; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Donna) Richards of Lancaster; sister, Lillian Sellers of Eastlake; brother-in-law, John Ed Kuhn of Rockbridge and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Kuhn.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, April 12, 2013 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. James Ditty officiating. Interment will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
