Kenneth L. Potts

Mr. Kenneth L. Potts, age 56, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on Monday, November 12, 1956 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Nelsonville, Ohio, the son of the late Kenneth LeRoy and Julia Anne Slingluff Potts. He was a 1975 graduate of the Nelsonville-York High School and earned degrees in engineering from Hocking College, Ohio University and West Virginia University. He was united in marriage on December 4, 1982 at the First United Methodist Church in Nelsonville, Ohio to Brenda McClain, and they were blessed with many happy years together. He began his career in Parkersburg, West Virginia at Corning INC. and as plant engineer for Dupont. He then worked for Crane Plumbing in Mansfield, Ohio. He and Brenda moved to Madison, Indiana and he began working for Grote Industries as a maintenance manager. He was currently working as a maintenance planner for North American Stainless in Ghent, Kentucky. He was a member of the Gideons and the Green Road Baptist Church. Mr. Potts enjoyed reading and studying the King James Version of the Bible, serving the Lord in his church, tinkering with small engines, woodworking and hunting. Kenneth died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison Indiana.

Kenneth will be missed by his loving wife: Brenda McClain Potts of Madison, Indiana; his loving sister: Leeanna Potts of Nelsonville, Ohio; his mother in law: Thelma McClain of Athens, Ohio; his brothers in law: Glenn F. McClain and his wife, Cathy of Nelsonville, Ohio, Terry McClain and his wife, Angie of Nelsonville, Ohio, and Ryan McClain and his wife, Michelle of Marysville, Ohio; his sisters in law: Lisa Oxley of Athens, Ohio, Megan Eaton and her husband, Chris of Athens, Ohio; his nieces and nephews: Christopher, Ryan, Cody, Trista, Jedediah, Whitney, Misty, Holly and Ivy; his great aunt: Sally Potts Gabriel; and several other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth LeRoy and Julia Anne Slingluff Potts; his father in law: Glenn McClain; and an infant sibling.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Richard McDole and Pastor Brad McClure at Green Road Baptist Church, 432 Green Road, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Connett Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio on Friday April 19, 2013.

Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana; Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Green Road Baptist Church; Friday, April 19, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette Street in Nelsonville, Ohio.

Committal services will be held on Friday, April 19 at 2:30 p.m. at the Connett Cemetery near Nelsonville, Ohio.
