Hugh "Ron" Ronald Harris

Hugh Ronald “Ron” Harris, 79, of Cincinnati, formerly of Lancaster and McArthur, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Drake Center in Cincinnati. He was born February 6, 1934 in Logan, Ohio, son of the late Phillip and Ruth Michaels Harris Sr.

Ron retired from Little Brook Apartment Complex and formerly worked at Columbia Gas Company and Austin Powder Company. He was a Navy Veteran.

Ron is survived by a son, Doug (Lori) Harris of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jessica Hillman, Maggie Harris, Brigid Harris and Ian Book and the mother of his children and friend, Janet Harris.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Hoff and brothers, Phillip Harris Jr. and Fred Harris.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, one hour prior to the services.
