Loren W. Howdyshell

March 31, 1922 — May 10, 2013

Loren W. Howdyshell, 91, of Logan, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 31, 1922 in Perry County, son of the late Wayland J. and Effie Anne Tucker Howdyshell. Loren was married for 66 years to Evelyn M. Bourne Howdyshell, who survives.

He retired from the Logan Hocking Schools after 45 years of service, loved farming, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Loren is survived by his son, Emery (Jane) Howdyshell of Logan; daughter, Karen (Charles) Westenbarger of Logan; grandchildren, Beth (Jim) Martin, Philip (Shawna) Westenbarger and Heather (Greg) Dickerson and great grandchildren, Jeremiah Martin, Emrie, Henry and Greta Dickerson, Ryanne and P.J. Westenbarger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Mount; brothers, George and Judson Howdyshell and great grandson, Isaac Martin.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, May 16, 2013 in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 6935 Twp. Rd. 234, Logan, with Pastor Steve Hubbard and Pastor Philip Westenbarger officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry County. Friends may call at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on Wednesday, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday, one hour prior to the services.

Arrangements are by Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Loren W. Howdyshell to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 6935 Twp. Rd. 234, Logan, Ohio 43138.
