Glenn L. Peters

Glenn L. Peters, 86, of McArthur, passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at Huston Nursing Home in Hamden. He was born March 23, 1927 in New Plymouth, Ohio, son of the late Walter and Mahala Aplin Peters. Glenn was married for 64 years to the late Ruth M. Summers Peters.

He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation and was the Vinton County Auditor for 18 years. Glenn was a WWII Navy Veteran and was Past Master of Delta Lodge #207 F&AM.

Glenn is survived by his sons, Dana Peters of McArthur and Michael Peters of Gillette, Wyoming; grandchildren, Melissa Cheatwood, Michelle Storms and Danna Peters Maynard; four great grandchildren; brothers, Donald Peters of New Plymouth and Walter Peters II of Michigan and sisters, Ernestine Huntley of McArthur and Maxine Ours of Castalia, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Glenn Michael Peters and sister, Pauline.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will be in New Plymouth Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M. where a Masonic service will be held at 7 P.M.
