Betty Ruth Barber

Betty Ruth Barber, 79, of Albany, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born June 15, 1934 in Scioto County, Ohio, daughter of the late William and Valeria Klaiber Wiley. Betty was married for 60 years to John W. Barber, who survives.

She was a retired office manager at Acme Screw Products, volunteered for over 15 years at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe and also volunteered for Vinton County Schools. Betty was a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 Ladies Auxiliary and the Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Greg (Leslie) Barber and Roger Barber, both of Albany; daughter, Darlene (Paul) Barber-Morris of Carlisle, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Ward Barber; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M.
