James L. Hassinger

James. L. Hassinger, 62, of Rockbridge, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 27, 1951 in Hagerstown, Maryland, son of the late James S. and Nellie Barnes Hassinger. James was married to Patricia Riggs Hassinger who survives.

He was a retired truck driver and a Vietnam Army Veteran.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by his son, James S. (Angela) Hassinger of Logan; daughter, Jennifer (Andrew Martin) Hassinger of Logan; grandchildren, Andrew Short and Abigail Short and sisters, Susan (Dave) Fahnestock of Villa Rica, Georgia, Carolynn (Lynn) Fahnestock of Powell, Ohio, Karen Hinkle of Gardners, Pennsylvania and Anne (Norman) Miller of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Jim’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Charles Fidler officiating. No calling hours will be observed.
