Arthur Kent Durkin

Arthur Kent Durkin, 75, passed away July 10, 2013. He was born December 12, 1937 to the late Bernard J. Durkin and Wilma Louise Zeigler Durkin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oris Zeigler, Olla Lee Zeigler, brother, Donald Durkin and nephew, Richard W. Salatin. He is survived by his children, Martin Durkin, Deanne (Dee) Durkin Reed and Dana Durkin; siblings Pegge Durkin Ormond, Barney Durkin, Michael Durkin and Bonnie Durkin Salatin; as well as eight grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Sheba.

Art was a 1956 graduate of McArthur High School. He was employed by North American Rockwell for many years and was retired from The Ohio State University. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Foresters and a founding member and a former Scout Master of Boy Scouts of America Troop Number 622. Art also had a great love of music, enjoyed square dancing and was a supporter of animal rescue.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 27, 10:00 am at the Elk Cemetery in McArthur, with his close friend, Pastor Jim Taylor officiating. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at McArthur Church of the Nazarene directly following the services.
