Bernice J. Oiler, 98, of Chillicothe, formerly of McArthur, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe. She was born January 6, 1915 in Meigs County, daughter of the late Loren C. and Ethel Bell Nelson Gibson. Bernice was the widow of the late Rodney Oiler.
She was a member of the McArthur United Methodist Church.
Bernice is survived by her children, June (Glenn) Rinehart of Chillicothe, Gary (Alice) Oiler of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joyce (Phil) Bailey of Columbus; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; a nice, Phyllis Booth of Wellston and a nephew, Roger Oiler of Chillicothe.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Oiler; brother, Howard Gibson and sister, Mary Goodin.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Friday, August 23, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Brett Fisher officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 A.M. until the time of the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Bernice J. Oiler to Hospice of Adena Heath System, 111 West Water Street, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
