Mabel Bownes Kennedy, 100, of Logan, passed away August 19, 2013 at Kindred Care and Rehabilitation Center in Logan. She was born July 11, 1913 in Logan, daughter of the late John and Bessie O’Dell Bownes. Mabel was the widow of the late Elson Kennedy.
She graduated from Logan High School in 1932 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Logan.
Mabel is survived by many special great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Norma Parry and Fontella Nill; brothers, John and Oscar Bownes; nieces, Betty Hamilton, Marie Woodgeard and Charlotte Gill and nephews, John and Robert Parry.
Graveside services will be held 10 A.M., Friday, August 23, 2013 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, with Rev. Rick Bennington officiating. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Thursday, from 6-8 P.M.
