Patricia L. "Erickson" Geiger

October 10, 1963 — September 15, 2013

Patricia L. (Erickson) Geiger, 49, of Powell, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Kobacker House in Columbus. She was born October 10, 1963 in Athens, Ohio, daughter of Charles F. Erickson of Radcliff and the late Maxine L. Peters Erickson. Patricia was married to Alan J. Geiger, who survives.

Patricia was a nurse-aide for eight years at the Mayfair Nursing Center in Columbus, Ohio. Her husband Alan met her at Mayfair in 2008 while she was taking care of his mother Virginia. Alan's mother and the other residents of the 300 hall loved Patricia because she was an exceptional aide, a truly sincere caregiver who consistently loved and cared for "her residents" as if they were her own mother or father. She often bought little gifts for her residents with her own money. She bought better razors for the men and special lotions and colognes for the women.

Patricia was as beautiful on the inside as the outside. She was totally selfless in her efforts to care for and accomodate others. Everyone loved Patricia because her love for others was so natural and so sincere. She never once complained during her year-long ordeal of horrific pain and suffering with lung cancer, which consumed her spine by the end. She passed all God's tests with flying colors and is now reaping her reward in the happiness and bliss of the afterlife with God and with her beloved mother and other loved ones that have gone before her.

In addition to her father and husband, Patricia is survived by her son, Kevin Grant of Pataskala; brothers, Dennis LeMay of Albany, James A. Erickson of Columbus, Charles “Frank” Erickson of Zaleski and William “Bill” Erickson of McArthur; sisters, Deborah Runyon of Wilkesville, Dorothy “Dottie” Rhodes of McArthur, Susan M. Coleman of McArthur and Pamela Jean Boring of McArthur and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Thursday, September 19, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur with Rev. Larry Acord and Pastor Bart Ankrom officiating. Interment will be in Bowen Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M.
