Laverne Sanders

LaVerne Sanders, 87, of Millfield, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville. She was born December 27, 1925 in Athens County, daughter of the late Harry Campbell and Hazel Phillips Duncan. LaVerne was the widow of the late Ralph Sanders.

She retired from Ohio University in Athens and was a member of Millfield Christian Church. She loved the Lord her whole life and enjoyed bible study.

LaVerne is survived by her sons, James (Judy) Sanders of Philo and Rodney Sanders of Lewisburg, Ohio; daughter, Rebecca Browning of Lewisburg, Ohio and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Sanders; brother, Rodney Campbell and sister, Colleen Dunfee.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, with Rev. Janice Burns-Watson officiating. Internment will be in Athens Memory Gardens, Athens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
