Betty Jean Betts

Betty Jean Betts, 75, of McArthur, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beverly. She was born June 29, 1938 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio, daughter of the late Alvin and Leona Kelly Ackley. Betty was the widow of the late Franklin Wilson Betts Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Franklin W. (Debbie) Betts Jr. of McArthur and Mark (Pamela) Betts of McArthur; daughters, Donna (Jim) Cordell of Obetz, Joyce (Ray) Farmer of South Bloomingville and Lisa (Tim Swank) Smith of Grove City; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline (Bill) Kelly of Urbana and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Betts; a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Paul Mercer officiating. Interment will be in McGee Cemetery, Vinton County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9 AM until the time of the service.
