Elaine L. Staley, 83, of Columbus, formerly of Chauncey, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 8, 1930 in Athens County, the daughter of the late Ralph and Irene Boudinot McKibben. She was the widow of the late Marvin D. Staley, who passed away December 15, 1984.
Elaine graduated from Chauncey Dover High School and retired from National Graphics in Columbus after 28 years of service. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Graphic Communications International Union Local 147-B.
Elaine is survived by children, Marvin D. Staley Jr. of Canal Winchester, Paula B. (Jack) Mauger of Columbus, Sherry E. (Tim) Clark of Westerville and Gregory J. Staley of Columbus; grandchildren, Amber (Larry), Adam (Brittany), Michael (Crystal), David (Sara), Brittany D., Jacqui (John), Tommy and Timmy (Jennifer); great grandchildren, Jada, AJ, Madison, Morgan, Reagan, Layne and Lydia; special nephews, John (Shawn King) Canter and Joe (Sheryl) Canter and their children, Jake, Tiffany, Scotty and Richard; and beloved best friends Sylvia Ebert and Betty Jaynes.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Sonny Canter; daughter-in-law, Molly A. Staley and a sister, Melvine Hines.
Elaine had a beautiful smile and an unconditional love for everybody. She will be welcome in heaven.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St, Nelsonville with Pastor John Bledsoe officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery New Addition, Nelsonville. Friends may call Thursday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
