Madeline "Micki" G. Samson

Madeline G. “Micki” Samson, 87, of Logan, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Genesis Health Care Center in New Lexington. She was born April 17, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Herman and Elsie Grosse Gesch. Micki was the widow of the late Col. George Dunlop Samson Sr.

She was a former member of the Central Ohio Water Color Society. She was a well known Water Colorist in Central Ohio having several gallery showings and participating in workshops in the United States and Europe. Her interests included history, rock collecting, fossils, archaeology, Egyptian History, the outdoors, antiques and Buckeye Football.

Micki is survived by her son, George Dunlop (Fiancé Tammy) Samson of New Albany; daughters, Robin (John) Hankins of Columbus and Madeline (Bruce) Weinberg of Amanda; five grandchildren, Lauren, Hannah, Olivia, Isabella and Lucy and her best friend, John Burns of Logan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Bassett and Hazel Hauschild.

Graveside services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, October 28, 2013 in Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, on Monday, from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Madeline G. “Micki” Samson to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Cincinnati Chapter, 644 Linn St., Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203.
