Charles W. Warren, Jr., 79, of Nelsonville, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, at The Laurels of Athens. He was born May 8, 1934, in Doanville, son of the late Charles W. and Lillian Bryan Warren. He was married to Ruth Ann Koon Warren, who survives, for 62 years.
Charles formerly owned the Dairy Queen Restaurants in Nelsonville, Athens, Albany, Glouster and Wellston. He also worked at Carborundum and Coal Mine #25 in Chauncey.
In addition to his wife, Ruth Ann, he is survived by three sons, C. David (Cheryl) Warren of Albany, Tim (Judy) Warren and Cliff (Robin) Warren both of Nelsonville; 8 Grandchildren, David (Amy) Warren of Dublin, Chris (Donita) Warren of Albany, Jason (Michelle) Warren of Worthington, Kayla (Beidy) Sow, T.L. Warren, Lisa (Tom) Heaton, Alan (Michelle) Warren and Joe (Kendra) Warren all of Nelsonville; 9 Great Grandchildren, Alexandrea, Katie, Brice, Django, Hunter, Kyleigh, Jaelyn, Brady and Lexi; Brothers, Tom (Joey) Warren of Logan, Mike (Vickie) Warren of Nelsonville and Butch Warren of Wellston; Sister, Patty (Roger) McCulloch of Nelsonville; brother-in-law, Harold Childress of Toledo; and sisters-in-law, Mary Warren of Nelsonville and June Koon-Bean of The Plains and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny and Dee Warren
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
