Emily Lucille Harkless

Emily Lucille Harkless, 78, of Logan, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at her residence in Logan. She was born July 6, 1935 in Athens, Ohio, daughter of the late John Raymond and Dorothy Six Rupe. Emily was the widow of the late James C. Harkless.


Emily is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Tom) Hatfield and Jamey (Jonathan) Miller both of Logan; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Emma Louise (Leroy) Mace of Haydenville; a special friend Eugene Bourne and her dogs, Wimp and Levi.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Rick and Rocky Harkless; daughter, Edna (Cookie) Hatfield; brothers, Arthur, Andrew and Robert Rupe and sisters, Eva Jo Rupe and Joy Ruth Rupe.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. James Mathias officiating. Interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Monday, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
