Thomas L. Ballard, 73, Man Among Men, of Rockbridge, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan. He was born January 14, 1940 in Antigo, Wisconsin, and was raised in McArthur, son of the late John and Verda Buetow Ballard. Tom was married to Debbie Campbell Ballard, who survives.

He retired from Diamond Power Company in Lancaster and was an Army Veteran. Tom was a member of the Logan Moose Lodge, a member of the Logan Eagles and a member of Anglers Paradise in Sugar Grove.

Tom is survived by his son, Thomas L. Ballard II of Palm City, Florida; daughter, Trisha L. Ballard of Logan; grandchildren, Rob M. (Top Dog) Rose, Nichole Ballard and Kristina A. Powell; five great grandchildren; a brother, Bob (Joan) Ballard of Westerville; sisters, Mona Karns of Creola, Bonnie Brewer of Jacksonville, Florida and Virginia Sikorski of McArthur; sister-in-law, Betty Ballard and brother-in-law, Steve Leonard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Michael Ballard and sister, Julie Leonard.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan. Interment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M. where Moose Lodge services will be held at 7:30 P.M.

Following the services, friends and family are welcome to attend the Logan Moose Lodge for food and fellowship.
