P. Kenneth "Kenny" Moore Sr.

P. Kenneth “Kenny” Moore, Sr., 73, of Nelsonville, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Doctors Hospital Nelsonville. He was born February 7, 1940, in Sugarcreek, Ohio, son of the late Roy and Bertha Moore Danko. He was married to Karen Whiteman Moore, who survives.

Kenny loved his children, grandchildren, family and friends dearly. He was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns football. Kenny was a great storyteller and liked playing cards and listening to country music.

In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by sons, Junior “PK”(Heather) Moore of Athens, Carl (Jennifer) Moore of Doanville, Jason Wells and Joey Wells both of Nelsonville; daughter, Mellany (John) Stover of Nelsonville; 7 granchildren, Cody and Kyle (Alicia Carter) Moore, Brandon and Ryan Wells, Cassie and Emily Coe and Katie (Travis) Wilson; 2 great grandchildren, Hannah and Haven Wendell; brother, Danny Moore of Nelsonville; 3 sisters, Ruth Keplar of Orrville, Jean Skivers of Nelsonville and Joan (Keith) Palmer of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Moore; 2 sisters, Alice Cornell and Dorothy Johnson; a grandson, Tyler Moore; and his mother and father-in-law, George and Beanie Whiteman.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be at New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
