Francoise "Fran" Thibault Will

Francoise “Fran” Thibault Will, 91, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at The Lindley Inn Assisted Living Community in The Plains. She was born December 25, 1922 in Montreal, Canada, daughter of the late Albert and Mathilde Henrichon Thibault. Fran was married on December 16, 1950 to John Gordon Will, who passed away April 24, 1987.

Fran was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Zaleski. She organized the John G. Will Scholarship for Vinton County High School Seniors, was a former member of the Vinton County Chamber of Commerce and was a former chair woman for the American Heart Association in Vinton County. Fran was a former Brownie Scout leader, she helped organize the former Teen Town and in the 1960’s was a solo vocalist for the musicales put on by the Junior Civic Club.

Fran is survived by her daughter, Christyne Will Calvin of McArthur; grandchildren, Vanessa Francoise Calvin of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Camille (Joshua) Tewell of Hillsborough, North Carolina and Lesley Calvin of Cincinnati; great grandchildren, Stella Mathilde Tewell and Asher Rhys Tewell; brother-in-law, David (Evelyn) Will of Easton, Maryland; nieces, Denise, Francine and Nicole St. Jacques all of Canada, Terry Towson Will of Oakland, California and Paula (Christopher) Will Carter of Rochester, New York and a nephew, Andre St. Jacques and grandnephews, Henry and Sam Carter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Jacqueline; sister, Mireille St. Jacques; mother and father-in-law, John Lawrence and Alice Reid Will; brother-in-law, Jean St. Jacques and sister-in-law, Terry Towson Will.

Funeral mass will be held 11 A.M., Friday, February 21, 2014 in St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 119 North 2nd Street, Zaleski, with Father Joseph Trapp and Father Richard Engle officiating. Private burial will be held in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, on Thursday, from 5-8 P.M.
