Rolland L. Slisher

Rolland L. Slisher, 86, of Chauncey, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1927, in Chauncey, son of the late George W. and Elizabeth Tolliver Slisher. He was married to Helen Bullock Slisher, who survives.

Rolland was a former member of the Chauncey Lions Club.

In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by his son, David (Brandy) Slisher of Pageville; daughters, Rebecca (Charles Marlatt) Slisher of Groveport, Lisa (Thomas) Ashbrook of Columbus; 5 grandchildren, Shannon King, Amy, Andrew and Gregory Ashbrook and Donald Guthrie; 3 great grandchildren, Allyssa Nicole King, Eldwin and Buddy Guthrie; and a sister, Mary Dowler of Chauncey.

In addition to his parents, Rolland was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, William, George and Walter Slisher and an infant brother Clarence Edward Slisher.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church, Chestnut and Harper St., Nelsonville with Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield. Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville and on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
