Verna L. Grubbs

Verna L. Grubbs, 90, of Noblesville, Indiana, formerly of Glouster, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville, Indiana. She was born August 17, 1923 in Ringgold, Ohio, daughter of the late Mahlon and Forrest Glass Parsons. Verna was the widow of the late Frank L. Grubbs.

She was the owner and operator of Grubbs Bakery in Glouster for 30 years with her husband Frank, and was a Nurses Aide at Hickory Creek Nursing Home for 20 years. Verna attended the Glouster Church of Christ and was a member of the Quilting Bee at the Glouster Depot.

She is survived by her sons, Frank (Carolyn) Grubbs of Greenwood, Arkansas, Roger (Becky) Grubbs of Noblesville, Indiana and Larry (Linda) Grubbs of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Linda (Tim) Edwards of Beckley, West Virginia; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Verna was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and Malcom Parsons and sisters, Lila Allison and Velma Nichols.

Funeral services will be held 12 P.M., Friday, March 14, 2014 in the Glouster Church of Christ 32 Fairlawn Ave., Glouster. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home, 30 Main St., Glouster, on Thursday, from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday, one hour prior to the services at the church.
