Doretha V. Atwood

Doretha V. Atwood, 88, of McArthur, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at her residence.  She was born June 15, 1925 in Kentucky, daughter of the late Jay and Inez Thompson Keesee.  Doretha was married to the late Ernest Atwood.

She is survived by her son, Lewis Kenton Atwood of Londonderry; brothers, Dallas (Sue) Keesee of Mansfield and Jerry Keesee of McArthur; sisters, Billie Freeman of Butler, Ohio, Bertha Mitchell of McArthur and Jane (Gary) Brown of McArthur and a sister-in-law, Catherine Keesee of Lancaster.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Grubbs; sister, Effie Ann Keesee and brothers, Charley and Robert Keesee.

Funeral services will be held 7 P.M., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. James McFadden officiating.  Private burial will be held in Shiloh Cemetery, Vinton County.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 5 P.M. until the time of the service.
