Jo Ann Bowers

Jo Ann Bowers, 84, of Logan, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Logan.  She was born November 14, 1929 in Conesville, Ohio, daughter of the late Herald and Hilda Casner Thomas.  Jo Ann was the widow of the late Richard Bowers.

Jo Ann retired from Logan High School as a Home Economics Teacher.  She was a former FHA Advisor, 4-H Advisor and Girl Scout Leader.  She was active in Cancer Support Group, the Bowen House, the Historical Society, AAUW, the Mothers Club and the Garden Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Marcie (Steve) Hedges of Groveport and Marla (Roger) Schrader of Wooster; grandchildren, Mitch Bowers of California, Kelsy Bowers of South Carolina, Carrie (Chinnu) Parinandi of Columbus, Candacie Schrader of North Carolina and Craig (Shelly) Schrader of Pickerington; great grandchildren, Katelyn, Kinley and Malaina and a brother, Jerry (Shirley) Thomas of Conesville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her son, Mark Bowers and brother, John Thomas.

Private funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 6-8 P.M.
