Brian Scott Dane

Brian Scott Dane, 35, of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1978, in Logan son of Ronald M. and Christy L. Davis Dane. He was engaged to Margaret Sterling of Nelsonville.

Brian graduated from Nelsonville-York High School in 1997, was a Sergeant and Shift Supervisor at the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail and a member of the SEORJ Special Response Team. He formerly worked at Anchor Hocking and attended the Church of the Epiphany and was an avid beekeeper.

In addition to his parents and fiancé, he is survived by his sons, Jackson S. and Jacob B. Dane; daughters, Paige M. and Katelyn M. Dane; Grandmother, Martha Keplar; brothers, Kenneth (Rusty) Dane of Logan, Daniel J. (Dani Steenrod) Dane of Nelsonville, Jarrod T. Dane of Akron; his Southeast Ohio Regional Jail family and his two dogs, Chewy and Angel.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth M. and Donna Dane and maternal grandfather, Kenneth Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville. Interment will be at the Carbon Hill Cemetery, Hocking County. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home.
