Guy Elroy Barnett

Guy Elroy Barnett, 87, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence.  He was born January 24, 1927 in Vinton County, son of the late Russell and Bernice Brown Barnett.  Guy was married to Darcus Ousley Barnett, who survives.

He was self employed in the timber industry.

Guy is survived by his sons, Roy (Gail) Barnett of Jackson, Ronald (Pauline) Barnett of Hamden and Raymond Barnett of Hamden; daughters, Bonnie (Ron) Darby of Ashville, Sue Frazee of Groveport, Judy (Jerry) Keesee of Columbus, Vonda (Roger) Mercer of McArthur, Wonda (Charlie) Hall of Marietta, Patricia (Rodney) Hamilton of McArthur, Vileta (Andrew) Courts of Wellston, Anita (Mark) Ousley of Dundas and Rhonda (Dan) Burkett of Lancaster; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Barnett of Hamden and Donny Barnett of Hamden and a sister, Joann Taborn of Hamden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Glen, Ray and Gerald and sisters, Louise and Juanita.

Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Rodney Hamilton officiating.  Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 5-8 P.M.
