Donna Y. Ellinger

Donna Y. Ellinger, 79, of Athens, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Laurels of Athens. She was born March 27, 1935 in Carbondale, the daughter of the late Clarence and Addie Penney Smart. She was the widow of the late Carl Ellinger.

Donna retired from Goodyear and was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ in Nelsonville.

She is survived by her sons, Stanley J (Linda) McKnight of Cutler, OH and Chester W. McKnight of London, OH; 2 grandchildren, Shaun McKnight of Coolville and Donnie E. (Amanda) McKnight of Cutler,OH; 4 great grandchildren, Corey, LeAnne, Adam and Cameron.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Nellie Mourn and Eileen Rush and her brothers, Floyd, Joseph, Lawrence and Ivan Smart.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Tom Dishong officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
