William Gordon Fannin

William Gordon Fannin, 75, of McArthur, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born July 26, 1938 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Gordon Edward Fannin and Elsie Davis Norman. William was married to the late Sarah Ward Fannin.

He was a retired truck driver, was a member of Grace Baptist Church and was known on the CB as Kentucky Rebel.

William is survived by his daughters, Billie Jo (Jeff) Jordan of Hamden, Rosemary Crabtree of McArthur and Janie Fannin of McArthur; grandchildren, Aaron Crabtree, Rachel (Timmy) Brown, Sarah Brown, Chance Beatty, Jeremy Jordan and Levi Jordan; sisters, Joann Leach of Kansas City, Kansas, Geraldine Dalton of Thornhill, Tennessee, Margie Dowling of Thornhill, Tennessee and Sharon Tedrow of Thornhill, Tennessee; lifetime friends, Fred Smith and Roger Reynolds and his many truck driver friends and his family at Maple Hills Nursing Home.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Roy William Crabtree and Jeffery Dale Jordan Jr.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Pastor Roger Hauck officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-8 p.m.
