Elizabeth "Betty" Holl Brandt

December 24, 1920 — June 8, 2014

Elizabeth Holl “Betty” Brandt, 93, of Logan, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence. She was able to spend her final years at home due to the care of her granddaughter, Tina. Betty was born December 24, 1920 in Logan, daughter of the late Barton A. and Grace Sparnon Holl. She was the widow of the late Richard Shaw Brandt.

Betty and her husband were partners in the former Dick Brandt Racing Stable and was also employed at the former Brandt’s Restaurant. In the early years of WWII, she worked at the Plum Brook Ordinance Plant in Sandusky. Betty was a member of The Board of Directors of The Logan Clay Products Company and was a member of The Board of Trustees of The Logan-Holl Foundation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Logan, the Bookless Book Club and the Sulky Sweeties. Betty was also a member of the United States Trotting Association and the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association. She was the recipient of the Ohio Lady Pace Award at the Little Brown Jug and was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority.

Betty is survived by her son, Dick (Connie) Brandt of Logan; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ron) Taddeo of Columbus, Doug (Joanna) Brandt of Los Angeles, California and Rudy (Tina) Brandt of Logan and her great grandchildren, Zoe, Max, Owen and Aaron Brandt.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Ann Brandt and brothers, Barton S. Holl and Richard H. Holl.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, June 13, 2014 in the Cardaras Funeral Home, 183 E. Second St., Logan, with Rev. Larry Hoffmann officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
