Walter "Wally" Lee Hicks Jr.

Walter “Wally” Lee Hicks Jr., 52, of Haydenville, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 8, 1961, in Fayette County WV., son of Susie W. Loudermilk Gray of Logan and the late Walter L. Hicks. He was married to Betty Mae Stover Hicks, who survives, for 28 years.

He was a member of the Haydenville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Molly Hicks of Haydenville; brothers, John Hicks of Buckeye Lake, Richard (Dodie) Gray of Logan, Billy (Beth) Gray of Logan, Samuel Gray of Columbus; sisters, Mary (Dane) Smith of Logan, Sharon (David) Estep of Haydenville; brother-in-law, Boyd Stover; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Russell; his dogs, Jack, Tiny, Sparky, Oliver and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and special friends.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Junior Gray, a sister-in-law, Amy Gray and a nephew, Matthew W.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Souers-Cardaras Funeral Home, 46 Fayette St., Nelsonville with Barb Harkless officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call Thursday from 11 AM until the time of service, at the funeral home.
