Joan Ellen Hall

Joan Ellen Hall, 80, of New Straitsville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her residence. She was born January 19, 1934 in Urbana, Ohio, daughter of the late Perry and Hattie Pullins Shivler. Joan was married for 63 years to James R. Hall, who survives.

She was a very active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was also a member of the former Gospelaires.

Joan is survived by her son, Steve Hall of Mansfield, Ohio; daughter, Sheryl (Shawn) Gallagan of Logan; grandchildren, Chris Vickers, Carrie Crawford, Shawn and Eric Gallagan, Naomi Squires and Tiffany Tamkin; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Janene Plumm of Columbus, Indiana and a son-in-law, Roy Vickers of New Straitsville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky Vickers, Brothers, Roland, Paul and Ed Shivler and sisters, Hortensa Jones and Ruth Shivler.

Funeral services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Ebenezer Baptist Church, Logan, with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
